Fighting Quakers Prevail, 3-1, Over Spokane
|
Toros Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Spokane Selects and Quebec Fighting Quakers.
The Quebec Fighting Quakers got a marvelous performance from pitcher Nick Dragon. The right-hander kept the Spokane offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-1 Quebec victory at Toros Ballpark. The winner was Dragon. He threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Jesse Walker.
The Fighting Quakers got a big at-bat from left fielder Dave Davidson. For the game, Davidson went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Quebec a 2-1 lead.
"Nice win for us," said Dragon. "Now we'll go after the next one."
Quebec raised its record to 73-59 with the win.
