Purple Wave Drop Prairie Thunder, 5-4

The New Rochelle Purple Wave beat the Randolph Prairie Thunder, 5-4, at Ballpark of Lexington. Richard Banales, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Landon Gross snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 2-2 on the season. Picking up the save was Mike Deadrick, his 13th.
In the bottom of the second, Banales had a 2-run double for New Rochelle. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Purple Wave on top, 2-0.
"We ground out the win," said Banales. "That's all that matters."
At 72-60, the Purple Wave find themselves in third place in the Stripes Conference East Division.
