Marshalls Pick Up 3-1 Road Win Over Denver
|
Fremont Marshalls starter Phil Gregoire turned in a top-notch performance against the Denver Pilots at Pilots Ballpark. The result was a win for the Marshalls, 3-1. Gregoire yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 12-7. Ryan Butler picked up the save, his 15th.
Fremont used the timely hitting of Aaron Nelson to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marshalls on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Do what you're good at," said Fremont manager Elias Nunez. "That's all I ask of the team."
The Marshalls saw their record improve to 60-72.
