Tight Tilt Goes to Marshalls, 3-2
|
The Fremont Marshalls and Ann Arbor Z's played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
The Fremont Marshalls eked out a 3-2 win versus the Ann Arbor Z's at Hedgehogs Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Alessio Monti. He was terrific. Marco Sanchez, 2-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings.
Joe West, the Fremont shortstop, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 2-1, Marshalls. For the game, West was 1-4.
"I'm happy we won," said Monti. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
Fremont bumps their record to 59-70 with the win.
