Marshalls Earn 4-1 Home Win

Fremont and Ann Arbor duked it out and the Marshalls came out victorious.
Fremont turned a fine outing from starter Phil Gregoire into a victory over the Ann Arbor Z's at Hedgehogs Ballpark. The final score was 4-1. The winner was Gregoire. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Pedro Benitez. Aaron Ewing closed it out for his 9th save.
Bryan Sheary had a big 2-run home run for the Marshalls in the bottom of the first inning. With Fremont leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a knuckle curve from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Pedro Benitez and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 13th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marshalls ahead, 3-0.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Gregoire.
The Marshalls saw their win-loss record go to 58-69. At the same time, the Z's fell to 59-68.
