Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Orono Oaks and Randolph Prairie Thunder.
The Orono Oaks locked up a win at Prairie Thunder Ballpark, knocking off the Randolph Prairie Thunder, 9-1. On the mound for Orono was left-hander Ryan Flamino. He played a major role in the triumph. The second-place Oaks now have a win-loss record of 76-51.
Orono used the timely hitting of Kevin Morrow to capture the win. The catcher socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Oaks ahead, 5-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Said losing manager Michael Kelleher: "At the end of the day, we've got to play better."
