A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Denver Pilots and Westwood Bruins.

Denver Pilots starter Dave Barncord was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Westwood Bruins, 6-1. Barncord, the winner, moves to 4-10. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks.

Denver used a well-timed hit by Erik Hansen to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pilots ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
