Hickory turned a good effort from starter Rich Roberts into a win over the New Rochelle Purple Wave at Crawdad Park. The Crawdads won the game, 8-0. Mike Deadrick recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 2 for 2. The Crawdads are now 77-51, while the Purple Wave fall to 58-70.

Hickory got a big at-bat from Jasper, Alabama native Jeremy Comey, who in the bottom of the second hit a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Crawdads ahead, 5-0.

Comey called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
