Chris Beasley was a vital contributor to the 4-1 Hickory victory over Orono. The Crawdads right fielder was 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Hickory reliever Frank Yanez snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Mike Poussard shouldered the loss. Dusty Nelson earned his 7th save in 10 tries.

Beasley had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-1 splitter from Mike Poussard, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Crawdads a 4-1 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Beasley.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Beasley told the Hickory Today.

The win gives Hickory a season record of 86-38.
