The Denver Pilots beat the Walnut Park Bobcats, 6-2, at Pilots Ballpark. The Pilots got a fine performance from right fielder Gabriel Crear, who was 2 for 3 with a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The save went to Dave Coe, his 13th this season. The last-place Pilots bumped their record to 51-73.
Dale Coffey, who is tied for 7th in the StC in hits with 111, aided the Denver cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Crear.
