Scorpions Score Late, Clip Trash Pandas, 5-4
|
The Syracuse Scorpions knocked off the Toronto Trash Pandas, 5-4, at Scorpion Stadium. It took 11 innings. Jordan Barrera was a prime reason Syracuse won. The center fielder was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Syracuse pitcher John Landgren got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Travis Williams got the loss. The last-place Scorpions own a record of 22-55.
The Scorpions relied on first baseman Justin Scott for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"The crowd was raucous," said Barrera.
