David Fadely brought his A-game to help Walnut Park defeat the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 5-1. In 7.2 innings, Fadely surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Heath Johnston locked down his 12th save.
The Bobcats got a big at-bat from first baseman Nate Sheridan. For the game, Sheridan was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 32nd double of the season gave Walnut Park a 2-1 lead.
Said losing manager Brent Boudreau: "Give the Bobcats credit. They played a better game than we did."
The 4th-place Bobcats have a record of 68-58.
