Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Orono Oaks and Ann Arbor Z's.
The Orono Oaks went home winners at University of Maine Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Bill Frazer. Frazer stifled the Ann Arbor Z's, enabling Orono to grab the 6-0 win. The winner was Frazer. He threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Ryan Simpson. Tim Kondas notched his 25th save of the season.
The Oaks benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the third. With Chuck Crabtree at bat and Orono leading 1-0, the Ann Arbor miscue allowed Orono to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"I still think this team can play even better," Crabtree told the Orono Daily.
The Z's, at 26-95, have lost 4 straight games.
