Oaks Snatch Late-Game, 6-5 Win
Despite a great performance by Denver right fielder Tony Villarreal, the Orono Oaks defeated the Pilots by the score of 6-5 in 10 innings at University of Maine Stadium. Villarreal was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Tim Suttle picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Billy Merner took the loss. Orono has won 3 straight, while Denver has lost 3 in a row.

Regis Roper played the role of hero for Orono. In the bottom of the tenth, he launched a solo home run off Billy Merner to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Roper said.
