Fighting Quakers Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Quebec Fighting Quakers took Walnut Park pitcher Kyle Sandor's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Walnut Park. The final score had Quebec getting past the Bobcats, 3-2. Sandor went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 5. Jose Ojeda earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 2-1. Jerardo Perez earned the save, his 4th, for the Fighting Quakers.
Tyler Lake aided the Quebec cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a walk.
Quebec manager Jeff Gray praised his team's "businesslike approach."
The third-place Fighting Quakers now sit at 67-55.
