For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
Walnut Park got a big-time effort from pitcher Justin Thompson, but it wasn't enough to keep the Spokane Selects from winning the game, 4-3. Thompson threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Spokane reliever Tyler Doss was the winner. His record is now 6-6. Lee Maher took the loss.
Spokane got a knockout punch from Lee Muza. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"We did enough to win," said Muza.
The Spokane win streak is now 3 games.
