Purple Wave Win, 6-4, Versus Walnut Park
|
Kyle Griffin was locked in. The right-hander led the New Rochelle Purple Wave to a 6-4 win against the Walnut Park Bobcats at Ballpark of Walnut Park. Reliever Mike Dineen picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Sean Rosato took the loss. The 4th-place Purple Wave bumped their record to 57-66.
Kevin Garber came through with a big-time hit for New Rochelle. The right fielder smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'm happy we won," said Griffin. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
