Bruins Clip Z's in Tight Contest, 2-1
|
Ann Arbor wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Brandon Feldman, falling to the Westwood Bruins, 2-1. Feldman threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Westwood reliever Chris Pokorski picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Chris Runte took the loss. Westwood is now 72-48, 6 games up in the Stripes Conference East Division.
Jon Welsh was the walk-off hero for Westwood. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bruins catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Welsh said.
