The Hickory Crawdads and Orono Oaks treated fans to some rich drama.

Hickory ruined an otherwise fine effort from D.J. Urbanek by toppling Orono, 2-1. The Orono pitcher threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The Crawdads bumped their record to 72-48 with this latest triumph.

Hickory got a clutch hit from Josh Botello. The pinch hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"That was a good game -- all the way through," said Botello.
