The Palm Springs Heat got a good effort from starter Isaiah Robinson in defeating the New Rochelle Purple Wave at Ballpark of Lexington. The final score was 5-2. Brent Gudim came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. With this game in the books, Palm Springs is 78-41, New Rochelle 56-63.
Jason Woody came through with a big-time hit for Palm Springs. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Robinson.
