Purple Wave Get 4th Straight Win with Late Rally
|
Isaiah Singletary, who is tied for 6th in the StC in quality starts with 14, pitched well, but the Quebec Fighting Quakers still fell short, losing, 2-1, to the New Rochelle Purple Wave at Toros Ballpark. The Purple Wave have a winning streak of 4 games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Brandon Gibson? The 27-year old shortstop Gibson stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put New Rochelle up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Gibson said.
