Despite a fine performance by left fielder Nate Dubiel, the Quebec Fighting Quakers lost to the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 7-5. Dubiel went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Ricky Valdez went 6 innings for New Rochelle to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. His record improves to 6-6. Today's win puts New Rochelle at 60-59, while Quebec falls to 66-53.

Tied up with the Fighting Quakers in the top of the fifth inning, the Purple Wave got a boost from third baseman Dan Scott. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Scott saw a 2-2 slider from Pat Nicholas and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put New Rochelle on top, 3-2.
