Purple Wave Win at Quebec, 2-1
Chris Reed pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Quebec Fighting Quakers, despite Reed's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the New Rochelle Purple Wave at Toros Ballpark. Chris Hinojosa recorded the save for New Rochelle, his 10th of the season. The win elevated the Purple Wave to 59-59.

New Rochelle used a well-timed hit by Travis Stroupe to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Purple Wave ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Bottom line," said Quebec skipper Jeff Gray, "we didn't play well enough to win."
