The Walnut Park Bobcats got a stellar performance from pitcher Jose Paredes, who handcuffed the Fremont offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Ballpark of Walnut Park. Paredes, now 9-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Walnut Park, at 57-61, sits in 4th place in the Stripes Conference West Division.

The Marshalls had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Bobcats going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old left fielder Billy Sawyer came to the plate. Sawyer hit a run-scoring double on a 3-1 fastball from Fremont hurler Donnie Marcus. It was Sawyer's 1st double of the year.

Sawyer described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
