Bruins Come Up Short at Hickory, 5-4
Crawdad Park was the site of a competitive game between the Westwood Bruins and Hickory Crawdads.

Starting pitcher Chad Bendon pitched well enough to help the Hickory Crawdads beat the Westwood Bruins, 5-4. Bendon picked up the win for Hickory, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 8-6.

Marcos Villarreal hit a 3-run home run off Kenny Fuzzell in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Crawdads ahead, 5-2. In addition to the homer, Villarreal had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.

"I thought Chad threw the ball well across the board," said Hickory manager Ray Sanchez.

Hickory raised its record to 72-46 with the win.
