Behind a fine performance from Jim Green, the Denver Pilots knocked off the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 4-2. Green went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Pilots. The victory puts Denver at 48-69.

Green contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Denver in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Green took a slider from Ricky Valdez and stroked the home run to center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Pilots to leap in front, 4-1.

Green attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
