New Rochelle Gets 7-1 Win
With center fielder Dave Acosta leading the charge, the New Rochelle Purple Wave defeated the Denver Pilots, 7-1, at Pilots Ballpark. Acosta, who is tied for 9th in the StC with a .791 OPS, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. New Rochelle now sits at 56-60, while Denver falls to 47-69.

The Purple Wave benefited from a costly error in the top of the sixth. With Randy Brewer at bat and New Rochelle leading 3-1, the Denver miscue allowed New Rochelle to plate 2 and take the lead, 5-1.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Acosta, "and then get after it again."
