New Rochelle Beaten, 7-5, by Tucson

Tucson and New Rochelle got after it at Raccoons Ballpark.
Though he had a stellar game, Nick Drake could not prevent his team, the New Rochelle Purple Wave, from losing, 7-5, to the Tucson Raccoons. Drake went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Clint Rapson in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Shane Edwards took the loss.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Eric Milbrandt came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing New Rochelle pitcher Shane Edwards, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Tucson on top, 6-5.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Milbrandt told the Tucson Daily News. "Whatever it takes."
The loss makes New Rochelle 66-49.
