Marshalls Handed 6-2 Loss by Randolph
|
The Randolph Prairie Thunder knocked off the Fremont Marshalls, 6-2, in Stripes Conference action at Prairie Thunder Ballpark. Randolph pitcher and Sanchez, Dominican Republic, native Joaquin Lira had an outstanding performance. Lira picked up the win for Randolph, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 14-5. Pedro Rodriguez earned the save for Randolph, his 8th.
Center Fielder Gabe Howard made an impact for Randolph, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Alessio Monti in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Howard went 3-5 with 3 doubles.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Howard, "one at-bat at a time."
With the win, the Prairie Thunder have a record of 75-39.
