Spirited fans greeted the Westwood Bruins for their clash with the Hickory Crawdads.

The Hickory Crawdads got a stellar performance from pitcher Ed Jenkins, who handcuffed the Westwood offense en route to a win, 4-0, at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Stripes Conference West Division-leading Crawdads have a record of 64-46.

Hickory used the hitting of Jason Lewis to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Crawdads on top, 1-0. For the game, Lewis had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

In comments to the Hickory Chronicle, Lewis admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
