Torres Goes Wild, But Selects Win
|
The Spokane Selects withstood a fine game by Ann Arbor designated hitter Jordan Torres at Selects Ballpark, to upend the Z's, 6-4. Torres hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was Cory Gregerson. He's now 10-8. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits for the Selects. Picking up the save was John Hennig, his 4th.
Bobby Butler chipped in a solo home run for Spokane in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"They had a good approach," Ann Arbor skipper Bryan Gallegos said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
Spokane now sits at 66-45, while Ann Arbor falls to 51-60.
