Scott Staffieri pitched a gem to lead Westwood to victory over the Walnut Park Bobcats, 6-1. Staffieri got the win, improving to 10-5. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Bobby Corbo picked up the save for Westwood, his 2nd of the year.

Westwood used a well-timed hit by Jeff Ciervo to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Bruins ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

Said losing manager Perry Glickman: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
