With center fielder Tony Thomas leading the charge, the Westwood Bruins defeated the Dillonvale Indians, 9-4, at Black Diamonds Ballpark. Thomas, the 4th overall pick in the 2020 draft, was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, the Bruins have a record of 61-43.

In the top of the third, 27-year old shortstop John Whitney hit a 2-run home run. The 5th home run of the season for the Westwood shortstop put the Bruins on top, 2-0.

"Being in first place now is good," said Thomas. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
