Selects Pick Up 7-1 Win Against Ann Arbor
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 25-year old center fielder Adam Cox, the Spokane Selects defeated the Ann Arbor Z's, 7-1. Jon Clark picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-4. He struck out 7 in 7.2 innings. Today's win puts Spokane at 52-51, while Ann Arbor falls to 41-62.
The Z's had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Selects going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old left fielder Ian McKibbins came to the plate. McKibbins hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 fastball from Ann Arbor hurler Russ Campbell. It was McKibbins's 8th home run of the year.
Said Ann Arbor manager Bryan Gallegos: "They just got the better of us."
