The Quebec Aces earned a close win over the Denver Pilots, thanks in part to Ryan Simpson. The Quebec right-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The winner was Simpson. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Dan Bruce. At 53-50, the Aces are currently second in the Stripes Conference East Division.

Quebec used a well-timed hit by Jimmy Scarberry to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Aces ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Quebec manager Arturo Rivera. "It's usually not just one thing."
