Selects Best Pilots in Pitching Duel
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Pilots Ballpark.
Danny Larimer pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Denver Pilots, despite Larimer's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Spokane Selects at Pilots Ballpark. The current losing streak for Denver has reached 5 games.
With no one out in the top of the second, Ian McKibbins hit a go-ahead, solo home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and with it the Selects took a 1-0 lead.
McKibbins called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
