Gibson goes 3-for-4 to Fuel Purple Wave Offense
|
Brandon Gibson knocked in 4 runs to help New Rochelle beat Orono, 8-5. The Chicago, Illinois native tallied 2 singles and 1 home run. Sean Harris claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 5-2. Mike Dineen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Purple Wave grabbed the lead when Gibson hit his 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Matt Williams made it 8-5, New Rochelle.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Gibson, "and then get after it again."
After today's action, New Rochelle sits at 51-54, while Orono falls to 60-45.
