Purple Wave Pull Out Late-Game Win, 3-2
|
Fremont got a big-time effort from pitcher Jaiden Harvey, but it wasn't enough to keep the New Rochelle Purple Wave from winning the game, 3-2. Harvey threw 7.1 innings of 1-hit ball for the losing team. The save was credited to Keith Hawes, his 15th. With the win, New Rochelle has a record of 55-50. Fremont falls to 65-40.
New Rochelle used a clutch hit from Dean Brum to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Purple Wave ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Fremont skipper Tyrone Hairston.
