The Oakland Invaders picked up a win at Nightmare Stadium, knocking off the New York Nightmare, 8-3. Starting pitcher Alfredo Tiscareno played a key role in the triumph. Oakland, at 41-33, is 3 games up in the National Conference South Division.

Oakland used the bat of Mike Townsend to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Invaders ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We'll savor this win," Townsend told the Oakland Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
