The Kalamazoo Comets dealt the Lake Elsinore Storm a 5-4 loss at Dust Devils Ballpark. Matt Miranda was the star on offense. He was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Comets saw their win-loss record go to 56-84. At the same time, the Storm fell to 34-106.

Jason Corbridge drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate against the Storm. With the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Kalamazoo in front, 5-4.

Kalamazoo manager Malcolm Griffin was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
