Storm Stumble Again, Lose, 8-4
|
Dollywood played host to Lake Elsinore at Dolly Parton Ballpark.
The Dollywood Partons polished off the Lake Elsinore Storm by the score of 8-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to shortstop Angelo de la Cruz. de la Cruz was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Partons. The losses continue to pile up for Lake Elsinore, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.
The Partons got a big hit from first baseman Bill Leija. In the bottom of the sixth, Leija smacked a bases-clearing double off Lake Elsinore pitcher Jim Unknown. It was his 14th double of the season. Suddenly, the Partons were ahead, 5-4.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Leija told the Dollywood Daily News.
