Sweepers Get One-Run Win at Columbus
|
Louisville Sweepers starter Ricky Garay pitched a strong game against the Columbus Bowsers at Ballpark of Columbus, leading the Sweepers to victory, 6-5. The winning pitcher was Garay, now 8-6. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Mike Hietala finished to wrap up his 30th save.
Eric Hunter aided the Louisville cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times.
"Ricky had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Louisville manager Steve Reid.
Louisville is now 69-68, while Columbus is 72-65.
