Partons Reel Off Another Win
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Dollywood Partons.
The Dollywood Partons topped the Bangor Lumberjacks, 7-2, in Southern A action at Dolly Parton Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Dollywood pitcher and Spencer, Oklahoma, native Ryan Roeser. Miguel Flores earned the save for Dollywood.
Pedro Recinos had a big 3-run home run for the Partons in the bottom of the first inning. With Dollywood leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Pat Furphy and punished it. The result was his 21st home run of the season, which put the Partons on top, 4-0.
Said losing manager Shawn Banks: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
With the win, Dollywood raised its record to 102-33.
