No one was more impactful than Todd Korn in the 6-3 Poplar Bluff win over Lake Elsinore. Korn, who is tied for 10th in the S-A with a .289 batting average, went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winner in relief was Pat Eisen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 6-8. Poplar Bluff is now 55-79.

Poplar Bluff used the timely hitting of Jeff Mullinax to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hillbillies on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Hillbillies manager Adrian Mercado. "This one was nice to get."
