Tropics Pull Off Thrilling 9-7 Win in Extras
The White Deer Tropics knocked off the Barrie Admirals, 9-7, in Southern A action at Stadia de Leones. White Deer pitcher and Warner Robins, Georgia, native Mike Gentry had an outstanding performance. The winner in relief was Brad Cooper. He is now 4-2. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. The save went to Jon Chouinard, his 2nd this season.

White Deer used a timely hit from Rob Perrin to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Tropics ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Gentry.

With the victory, the Tropics upped their record to 67-66.
