Partons Topple Comets, 9-1, as Dauphin Shines
The first-place Dollywood Partons were less than gracious hosts to the Kalamazoo Comets.

Jim Dauphin helped his team muscle past the Kalamazoo Comets, 9-1. In the game, the Dollywood left fielder was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Kalamazoo is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 11 games.

Dauphin made an early impact for Dollywood when he stroked his 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Partons on top, 6-0.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Kalamazoo manager Malcolm Griffin.
