Nashua Absorbs 7-1 Loss to Kalamazoo
|
2026 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Nashua Sweepers.
The Kalamazoo Comets stopped the Nashua Sweepers, 7-1, at Wizards Stadium. The Comets got a big game from Nick Nicholson, who went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Chris Gonzalez got the win, improving to 2-7. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 9 and walking 1.
With Kalamazoo leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Nicholson hit a changeup from Nate Kreps for a 2-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Comets ahead, 5-1.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Nicholson.
The Comets raised their record to 37-96.
