The Long Beach Keys faced a tough opponent in Columbus pitcher Carlos del Valle, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Columbus by a final score of 5-1. del Valle went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Keys now own a record of 48-83.

Long Beach third baseman David Cheesman helped the Keys go up, 2-1, in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Cheesman hit a run-scoring single off Columbus pitcher Oliver Murga.
