San Francisco Rocks Chicago, 12-1
|
The San Francisco Fire had no problem beating the Chicago Gangsters, 12-1, at San Francisco Grounds. Jared Priest led the way. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 5 for San Francisco. San Francisco has won 3 straight, while Chicago has lost 6 in a row.
With San Francisco leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Priest hit a cutter from Bobby Nowlin for a 2-run double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Fire ahead, 3-0.
Chicago manager Antonio Valdez said: "Over the course of the season, you're going to have little ruts where you're not getting the breaks and when you're not playing well. This is one of them."
