The Barrie Admirals topped the Dollywood Partons, 5-3, in Southern A action at Dolly Parton Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Barrie pitcher and Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, native Ben Gallegos. Rafael Baray, credited with the save, is now 22 for 26 in save opportunities. The Admirals now have a record of 77-52 with the win over Dollywood.
Barrie used a timely hit from David Nevarez to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Admirals ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Adam Freeman.
