The Barrie Admirals locked up a win at Stadia de Leones, knocking off the Columbus Bowsers, 4-3. On the mound for Barrie was right-hander Graham Renner. He played a major role in the triumph. Rafael Baray earned the save, his 21st. The third-place Bowsers dropped to 70-58.

Barrie took a 4-2 lead on Nate Raphael's 35th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Raphael hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Columbus pitcher Scott Chrysler visibly frustrated.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Columbus manager Joe Mills. "But we decided not to take it."
