Sweepers Go Down to Defeat, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the White Deer Tropics and the Nashua Sweepers, Mike Gentry, who is tied for 10th in the S-A in wins with 10, proved to be the difference. The White Deer right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Tropics win. The 4th-place Tropics go to 63-65.
Brad Dilday had a clutch hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two men out and the bases loaded, the White Deer designated hitter hit a run-scoring single. That put the Tropics in the lead, 3-2.
After the game, White Deer manager Gabriel Gonzalez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
