Hillbillies Earn Win with Late Rally
Travis Letner had a good game, but he could not keep the Kalamazoo Comets from falling, 5-4, to the Poplar Bluff Hillbillies at Owls Ballpark. The Kalamazoo right fielder was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 in the loss. Jeff Horn, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Pat Eisen notched his 5th save of the season.

Poplar Bluff took a 5-4 lead on Jose Jinzo's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Jinzo hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Kalamazoo pitcher Tomas Herrera visibly frustrated.

"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Malcolm Griffin, the Kalamazoo manager.

Kalamazoo's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
