Castro Schools White Deer in 1-0 Nashua Triumph
|
Armando Castro pitched a gem to lead Nashua to victory over the White Deer Tropics, 1-0. Mark Williams earned his 15th save, after closing out the game. With the win, the Sweepers improved to 48-79.
Castro, a native of Tlalnepantla, Mexico, was dealing all game. He kept White Deer hitters off-balance, while giving the Sweepers 8 quality innings. Castro threw 101 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 5.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Nashua manager Tony Allen said.
