Cates Brilliant, Blanks Comets
|
Poplar Bluff Hillbillies pitcher Steve Cates really got it done at Owls Ballpark in a 7-0 shutout victory over the Kalamazoo Comets, shutting them down on 4 hits.
"It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Cates said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."
The 20-year-old issued no walks and had 6 strikeouts in the Hillbillies win.
