Admirals Beat Sweepers, 5-2
|
Barrie and Louisville duked it out and the Admirals came out victorious.
Barrie turned a good performance from starting pitcher Danny Cortez into a 5-2 triumph over the Louisville Sweepers at Miller Park. Jerardo Perez collected save number 33.
Barrie catcher Justin Cole contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 38th hit of the season and put the Admirals ahead, 4-0.
Barrie manager Manny Uset commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
Barrie is first in the Southern A West Division with a record of 82-45.
